The match


The match started with Tsitsipah to come in focused and serve for 1-0, while breaking Schwartzman’s first serve for 2-0 and then forcing his pace for 3-0! Tsitsipas responded with a love game and made his second break for 5-1, before breaking for 6-2 and leading 1-0 in the sets!

At the beginning of the second set, Tsitsipas made it 1-0 without losing a point, and then came “one breath” from his fourth break in the match, but did not take advantage of the two opportunities he had, with Schwartzman leveling at 1- 1, before Stefanos held his serve to retake the lead, at 2-1 and 3-2. Schwartzman reached 24 unforced errors and Tsitsipas made it 4-2 with a love game and a break, comfortably protected his serve for 5-2 and closed the second set with a break, making it 2-0 with more than enough comfort!

Stefanos started the third set perfectly as well, holding his serve for 1-0, while coming very close to the break, before Schwartzman equalized at 1-1. Then, in a game that lasted almost 15 minutes, Tsitsipas erased three break points of his opponent for a 2-1 advantage, while he made his 7th break in the match, taking a two game lead. Schwartzman pressed on his last counterattack and cut to 4-2 and 5-3, before Stefanos secured qualification, serving for 6-3 and the final 3-0 in sets!
