Three Europeans are the finalists for the position of coach at the Raptors

by

With the gaps in the benches of the NBA teams being gradually covered, only the one of the Raptors is still left without a guide.

Toronto continues its search after making the decision to part ways with Nick Nurse, who has now taken over the Philadelphia Sixers. In fact, as noted journalist Mark Stein reports, the Canadians will definitely have a European coach.

In particular, the Raptors now have three finalists for the position, all of whom are from the old continent. The first and main candidate for the position is Sergio Scariolowho has been known for several weeks to be talking to the team where he also worked as an assistant from 2018 to 2021.

The other two possible coaches of the Toronto team are Darko Rajakovic and Jordi Fernandez. The former has been Taylor Jenkins’ assistant in the Memphis Grizzlies for the past three years, while the latter has extensive experience from various positions in the NBA, while this year he was his assistant Mike Brown at the Kings, guiding the team himself when the American coach was not available for some matches.

We remind you that any of the three, if preferred, will make history, as he will become the first non-American or Canadian head coach in the history of the NBA.
