The lights of world sports will be focused on that day in our city. Piraeus has now proven that it is a city that can successfully organize or host top international competitions. It is something we pursue and systematically work on. I invite people to come to Piraeus and watch this unique sporting spectacle up close, as it is the first time that a race of this level is held outside the stadium in Greece. I would like to thank the President of SEGAS Sofia Sakorafa for our excellent cooperation, my Advisor Nikos Gemelos for his valuable contribution to this great event, as well as the television station Megand Vangelis Marinakis for his live broadcast Piraeus Street Long Jump».

Sophia SakorafaChairman YOU: “The Greek sportsmen and women athletes have managed to highlight once again the dynamics of Greek Athletics. The medals, as well as the constant presence of Greek sportsmen and women in the world’s top competitions, have once again highlighted athletics as one of the most popular sports in our country. The dynamics of Classical Sports is now also reflected in the presence of the world in the domestic competitions as well as in the fact that every year important new competitions are organized in our country. One of them is the International Meeting with the name “Piraeus Street Long Jump”, belonging to the World Athletics Federation series of events World Continental Tour / Europe Silver and which will add extra glamor to the intense racing action. A sports event that will take place in front of the emblematic Municipal Theater of Piraeus, marking the unification of culture and sports. SEGAS expresses its satisfaction for the cooperation with the Municipality of Piraeus in our joint effort to grow the athletics family even more. To lead our children to the stadiums but at the same time to create unique sporting events that the Greek society will enjoy.
