His collaboration with Yannis Sahpatzidis announced the Panionios. The 30-year-old center (2.09m.) had a significant contribution to the team’s rise from the Second National League to the Elite League, as well as the conquest of the UNICEF Trophy, which brought the team to the Final 8 of the Cup.

PANIONIO G.S.S. and GIANNIS SAHPATZIDIS will continue their common course in the Erricos Dunan Elite League during the 2023-2024 season.
Sahpatzidis was one of the main pillars of winning the double in the 2022-2023 season. In the Second National Championship he averaged 13.4 points with 68.1% on two-pointers. He was also the team’s leading rebounder with an average of 8.4 and leading blocker with 1.4 per game.
His statistics are completed with 1.2 assists in 23.2′ of participation.
In the Cup competition he averaged 15.8 points (62% on 2-pointers), 9.3 rebounds and 1.7 blocks while recording 10 points and 10 rebounds against Herakles in the UNICEF TROPHY semi-final, 20 points-15 rebounds in final with FEA NF/NH in the final but also 17 points- 5 rebounds in the quarter-final with AEK in the Final-8.
Yiannis Sahpatzidis was born on 29/9/1993 in Thessaloniki, he is 2.09 meters tall and started playing basketball at X.A.N.Th.
In the 2014-2015 season he agreed with Rethymnon in the Basket League but was loaned to Heraklion where he had his first (and only) experience in the Second National Division.
They followed Pagrati (2015-2016), Korivos Amaliadas (2016-2018) with whom he competed in the Basket League for the first time and was the captain of the team, Ionikos Nikias (2018-2019) with whom he was promoted to the Basket League.
As with the team of Harilaos Trikoupis (2019-2021) with which he first rose and then competed in the Basket League.
He started the 2021-2022 season in Larissa (Basket League) but then returned to Messolonghi and Charilaos Trikoupis (A2 Category).
