The street pole vault event organized by the Greek pole vault champion, Emmanuel Karalis, will once again welcome top jumpers who will aim for the big “flights”.
The Polish World Champion and European Champion, with three participations in the Olympic Games, Pawel Wojciechowski will attend the meeting for the second time in a row. The athlete who holds a record of 5.93m will provide plenty of competition.
At the same time, the World U20 champion, Anthony Ammirati, will attend the event for the first time. The young champion, who has a record of 5.81m, had won last year at the World Championships held in Cali. But Ammirati will not be the only Frenchman to grace us with his presence.
European U23 champion Ethan Cormon will also compete at the Fly Olympia. The young Frenchman, who won the European U23 championship in Tallinn in 2021, has a record of 5.82m.
At the same time, the Kole brothers will come to the meeting again. Thibaut (5.82m) and Mathieu (5.74m) Collet, who also competed in Fly Olympia last year, will participate in the competition for the second consecutive year. In fact, last year, Thibaut Collet had won second place in the race.
On the Greek side, Emmanuel Karalis will be completed by Yiannis Rizos. The Greek pole vaulter, who has an individual record of 5.60m, will participate for the second year in the event and will aim for the big jumps.
The meeting is co-organized by the Municipality of Ancient Olympia, the “Athletic Gymnastics Association of Pyrgos” and the Region of Western Greece, while it is held under the auspices of the Hellenic Tourism Organization (EOT) and the Hellenic Athletics Federation (SEGAS).
