Apollo Smyrnis also renewed with Alamano

by

Alexandros Alamanos remains a pole player of Apollo Smyrni. The Challenger Cup holders have announced the renewal of their partnership with the 23-year-old defender for a sixth consecutive season to help them once again star in Greece and Europe.

In detail, the announcement:

“They are, now, identical concepts! GS Apollon Smyrnis announces the extension of its collaboration for the 2023-2024 season with Alexandros Alamanos, who will wear the blue and white cap for the sixth year in a row!

The 23-year-old defender (born on 3/3/2000), despite his young age, is the oldest athlete on the ‘light brigade’ roster, being an integral part of it both in terms of his competitive qualities , as well as with those outside the pool.

The 1.97 tall athlete stands out for his ability to play in many different positions, as, in addition to being a defender, he is also used as a winger (on the left) and as a second striker. It is clearly a valuable ‘tool’ in the hands of Nikos Deligiannis, having inextricably linked his name with Apollo Smyrnis, to which he was transferred at the age of just 18, five summers ago, as world champion (2018) with the National Youth Team in Sobatelli.

Speaking on the department’s official website, www.apollonwaterpolo.gr, on the occasion of his renewal, he said: “I am very happy that I will remain for the sixth consecutive year at Apollon. A fairly successful season ended with many happy moments and now we look to the next one, where the goals remain high in Greece and Europe”.

In addition to his decisive contribution in defense, Alexandros Alamanos also contributed offensively to the team’s triumphant march towards winning the Challenger Cup and the third place in Men’s A1, scoring 17 goals in Europe and 26 in Greece.

Until recently, in fact, he participated in the preparation camp of the men’s national team, under the instructions of the federal coach, Thodoris Vlachos.
