Almere City made history: For the first time in the Eredivisie!

by

Almere City wrote history! The club which is… almost 22 years old and comes from the merger of some small amateur clubs in Amsterdam, managed to win its first promotion to the Eredivisie.

For that to happen, beat her in both games Amen! Initially, days ago at home with 2-0 and today with 2-1 out, to double her wins and secure her first entry in the saloons.

With his former player Apollo of Smyrna, Rajeed van La Parra, to open the scoring with a close finish in the 51st minute and celebrate with his fans in “De Ude Mirdik” and Schmitz sealing the promotion ticket two minutes later. Vlak in the 58th minute reduced, but it was not enough for Emmen to avoid relegation to the second division of the Netherlands.

With its players and fans Almere City let it… they feast their hearts in the finale. Why did they write three consecutive qualifiers in the play-off process, since before the Amen they had eliminated her in doubles matches Fenlo and the Willem.

And for coach Alex Pastour to prove that he can raise a team that didn’t have the biggest budget in the division, but the choices and coaching play their part.
