Friendly loss for US Women’s National Polo in California

A second friendly defeat was experienced by Women’s National Polothis time with 11-9, from USA to California.

The Greek team was in control for a large part of the match, leading 4-2 at the beginning of the second period and 8-6 in the middle of the third, with consecutive goals by Nino and Eleftheriadou. At the most critical point of the game, the big guns of the American women, Mandy Musselman and Maggie Stephens, took action, as well as Ashley Johnson, who performed crucial operations. Thus, the “golden” Olympic champion and world champion managed with a 5-0 run to turn the situation around and reach victory, with Eleftheriadou simply shaping the final 11-9.

The third and last friendly of the two teams, before the final phase of the World Cup in Long Beach, will take place in the early hours of Friday (16/6), in Stanford.
