Modric on whether he will stay at Real: “I have said many times what I want, I will not repeat it”

by

A clear answer about his future was given by Luka Modric.

The Croatian midfielder has also been linked to many scenarios about Saudi Arabia, but at every opportunity he states that he wants to stay in Real Madrid.

He did the exact same thing in his pre-Final Four press conference Nations League, which starts on Wednesday (14/6) in the Netherlands. THE Modric spoke about both the “queen” and the Croatian national team, while also commenting on his farewell Karim Benzema.

In detail what he said:

For Real: “My focus is on the national team. As for Real Madrid, I have said it all many times and I would not like to repeat what my desire is. My mind is on the Netherlands game. When it’s all over, I’ll talk about that too.”

On Benzema’s farewell: “We are sorry to see a great player like Karim leave, but everyone has their own career and does what they think is best for them. We thank him for everything he has done for Real Madrid and we wish him the best of luck.”

For the Croatian national team: “I always enjoy playing for the national team and my every presence here fills me completely. The fact that my time with the national team is coming to an end is a reason to enjoy it even more. I enjoy every time I wear this shirt, in every match and every training session. As long as I’m like that and I can help, there’s no reason why I shouldn’t be here.”

For the Nations League semi-final with the Netherlands: “We are playing against a young and talented team that is returning to great results in recent years. It will be difficult. They are playing at home, but there will be a lot of our fans and that will be extra motivation. In my opinion, the game is 50-50. We come here full of enthusiasm, will, energy, we have worked very well, we feel good and I hope we can show it on the pitch.”
