by

The competitive presence of our Under 13 national team during today’s (15/06) second day of the European championship, which is being held in Zagreb, is also judged to be flawless.

It included first place in the 3rd group of the B level with 3 wins in as many games and came to show again that the Greek team deserved to be on Wednesday in the A level, that of the best teams of the first ever European championship, which is made for the boys and girls .

Greece did their best on Thursday, even in the evening, their finale in stage 2 was impressive.

Facing the group 1 favourites, Azerbaijan, having 2 points less, they would only take the 1st place in the group with a wide victory and after the initial 1-1 they managed three wins in a row for the final 4-1.

On Friday 16/06 she will continue her effort in the team playing for positions 15-18 of the championship, i.e. the first in level B. It should be noted that the responsible coaches Lefteris Tsokanos and Christos Tsarsitalidis used all the children today, to be precise three different compositions.

Thus, with two participations they made their debut with the national emblem and Dimitris Georgallidis with Despina Dimitriou. Konstantinos Alexoudis, Anna-Fanouria Mitkas, Yiannis Kioseloglou and Christina Tzenidis also had two participations. In the mini table for positions 15-18, Greece will face Belgium, who topped the 2nd group of level B. The other pair is Portugal-Austria.

The start of our representative group did not hide pressure, as it was against patient Latvia, which was left without a point yesterday in the 2nd group. With a solid performance and due attention he took the victory with 5-0 losing only one separate set. Georgalidis and Dimitriou managed the stress of the first appearance well and prevailed in their only individual game. This time, Alexoudis and Mitka competed in doubles and Kioseloglou and Tzenidi sat on the bench.

In the 2nd matchday of the 3rd group of level B, the opponent was Lithuania, which in stage 1 had finished last with 3 points in the 7th group. The degree of difficulty was higher, but the children responded very well in this match as well. In the opening mixed doubles, Kioseloglou/Zenidis saved a set of bowls to finally reach victory in 4 sets. In the temporary tie, Georgallidis with a new positive result gave the Greek team the lead again.
