About three hundred sailors from 47 countries have already set course for the Optimist European Championship, which will be hosted from July 15 to 22 at the facilities of the Thessaloniki Nautical Club
The Mayor of Kalamaria, Yiannis Dardamanelis, sent a message of support for the event: “With its eyes fixed on the sea, Kalamaria opens its sails again, starring in another international event, organized by the Nautikos Omilo of Thessaloniki in collaboration with our Municipality.
The Optimist European Sailing Championship will give hundreds of European athletes the opportunity to experience the hospitality and beauty of our city.
The strategy of extroversion that our administration has drawn up, supporting all international, pan-European and pan-Hellenic events, highlights Kalamaria and ranks it among the European cities that can hold great events.”
We remind you that the races will be held in collaboration with the International Optimist Dinghy Association, they are open and Greece, as the host country, has the right to participate with twice the number of athletes.
