Hamilton on Verstappen: “He will certainly surpass my records”

by

There is no doubt that the Lewis Hamilton he is one of the top pilots in its history F1.

The Briton holds the records for most championships (7, together with Schumacher), most wins (103) and most pole positions (103), among others. However, he doesn’t seem to feel particularly… confident about maintaining his top performance.

In particular, Hamilton spoke about him Max Verstappenpraised the Dutchman and showed confidence that “Super Max” will break all his records.

In detail what he said:

“He’s got a huge career ahead of him, so he’s definitely going to beat my record. After all, records are meant to be broken and he is in a great team. We at Mercedes must work hard to extend my winning record. I hope to get a few more wins now at the end of my career. I hope we are even closer in terms of competition. Max does a great job on the track and has had a fantastic career so far, so he will definitely break my records. I’m working hard to slow him down a bit.

All drivers have very different careers. Some will find themselves in a winning car sooner than others. But today we have more matches than in previous years. So I never looked at the numbers. When I was a kid though, I never expected to be on this list. For me it is a great achievement. But you can’t compare it, that’s one thing. Obviously you have to be in the right car at the right time for enough time. I don’t know if we can have it soon. For now, I’m enjoying the moment.”
