Fasoula: “The defeat hurts, but we gave it our all – Let’s learn from it”

“Losing hurts, I hate losing as does the whole team. I believe that we fought, we gave everything on the floor and everything was decided in the details in the end. Maybe it cost us the lack of experience in some decisions. All we can do is learn from it and come back stronger in the future“, said the international center and added: “In Eurobasket you have to be ready to play every day, I don’t think we lacked energy, but we made some mistakes in defense. These details are befitting at this level of such an event. We must learn from what happened. We were in control for most of the match, but the details proved to be very important in the end. I agree with the coach, everyone thought we would be eliminated in the first round, but we stayed together, overcame the problems, got energy and played well. Obviously we could play better and we all wanted to win today and qualify. We will have to work on the one-on-one defense and the box out, if we were better in those areas we could have secured the win. When you’re an underdog you have to bring out more energy and thirst than your opponents and I think we did that.
