Even the… flood didn’t stop Scotland: They beat Georgia and made it 4/4 in Group 1!

by

Unstoppable n Scotland in the 1st group of the qualifiers for EURO 2024!

Although their home clash with Georgia was halted in the 7th minute of 90 minutes due to the very heavy rain that hit Glasgow and resulted in the Hampden Park pitch being… flooded, Steve Clarke’s side were not affected and prevailed upon me 2-0making it 4/4 in the group and having set a bow to be on the pitches of Germany for the final phase of the competition!

The game started on a very heavy pitch, however Scotland were undeterred and took just 6 minutes to open the scoring, with McGregor to send the ball into the net with a strong shot! In the 7th minute the referee was forced to stop the game temporarily, with the players going to the dressing room and the people on the field even using brooms to remove the water.

Scotland-Georgia 2-0

Finally, after 90 minutes the game restarted, with McTominay to score his 5th goal of these qualifiers, after a cross from Andy Robertson and a beautiful shot on the move! Georgia then pressed for the goal that would put them back in the match, o Kvaratshelia missed a penalty in stoppage time and 2-0 was unchanged, with Scotland making it 4/4 in qualifying for the first time in their history and extending the points gap to their chasers to +8 (Spain are at – 9, but having given two games less)!
