Ioanna Helmi became AEK’s winger on Sunday. The Amateur Union announced on Tuesday the acquisition of the 21-year-old regional for next year, with her competing in Alimos this season.
In detail, the announcement:
“AEK is pleased to announce the start of its collaboration with Ioanna Helmi. The 21-year-old (15/01/2002) international left-handed winger signed her contract and joins the club’s women’s polo team.
Ioanna Helmi started polo from the Academies of Panionion, even competing in A1 with the women’s team of the ‘blue and red’ in the 2019-20 season. In 2020 he transferred to Ethnikos Piraeus, while for the last two years he wore the cap of the Alimos team.
He is international with the small National teams, winning fifth place with the Juniors in 2019 in the Pan-European Championship of Volos.
After the agreement was made official, Ioanna Helmi said to aek.gr: “First of all, I am very happy and thank the AEK union for giving me the opportunity to play with this team.
I believe that in every training session, we will work for our best possible development and, with cooperation and concentration, the team will achieve its goals”.
