The National Junior Table Tennis Team was third in 2021 and 2022 and now went one step further and, in fact, strongly claimed the first place. In the exciting final against Turkey and, in front of dozens of ardent supporters, she gave every ounce of her strength, demonstrated quality, but lost with a 3-1 set.

However, apart from the events of the last few seasons, it is noted that in the 35 years of the institution’s history, the national team has reached second place for the fourth time, while it also had a gold medal in 1992 in Thessaloniki.

In the evening, the juniors also closed their matches. They were defeated 3-1 in sets by Moldova and took sixth place. Earlier, on Thursday, however, in the ambiguous match against Serbia, they showed with their performance that they had the ability to enter the semi-finals and achieve a better ranking.

The third medal in a row could also be gold for the junior national team, which really paid attention to the details.

Indicatively, we highlight that Manolopoulos lost his serve in a bowl set and led 7-2 in the fourth set of the opening match, while Madesis was ahead in his second singles match with a 2-1 set and 9-6 points.
