Positive second sample with goals for Panathinaikos! Ivan Jovanovic’s team prevailed in their second friendly on Austrian soil 3-1 of the Slovenian Rogaska in Bad Erlach with Filip Mladenovic to make his debut.
Great goals from the “greens” with Ioannidis, Bernard and Magnuson finding the net with the highlight being the Icelander who scored with a free kick in 63′ and Vaiannidis to show that he can offer a lot. Next friendly for Panathinaikos on Tuesday (4/7) against Petrolul Proesti from Romania.
In the mind of Ivan Jovanovich:
Just like in the first friendly on Austrian soil against Wiener Victoria, today too, the Serbian coach lined up Panathinaikos with a 4-3-3 system. Lodingin took on the task of defending the “green” goal, with Vaiannidis starting as a right back, while Huancar was on the left side of the defense and Senkefeld and Fikai formed the duo of stoppers. Ruben, Bernard and Kleinheisler started in midfield, with the Hungarian ace playing in the ‘8’ position. On the two “wings” were Palasios and Verbits, with Ioannidis being the spearhead of Panathinaikos’ attack.
The match
The two teams moved at a slow pace at the beginning of the friendly, with Panathinaikos constantly in possession, moving the ball around with the main exponents being Kleinheisler who moved as an inside midfielder but also the Vaiannidis and Bernard to be highly mobile.
The first good moment for the “clover” came in the eighth minute when Vagiannidis crossed from the right and the ball reached the Juancar who returned at once feeding Ioannidis. The Greek striker turned and shot the ball against, benefiting him Kleinheisler who shot hard but Bazdaric parried.
In the 15′ Rogaska came up against Grandisar, with the Panathinaikos defense well ahead, but the Slovenian forward was found in an offside position. The “greens” in 25′ they reached 1-0 with Ioannidis to cooperate nicely with Vagiannidis and to place from the height of the small area by sending the ball deep into the goal. In the 33rd minute, Huancar scored a very nice goal after Fikai’s deep ball, but the goal was disallowed for offside.

The “clover” doubled its goals in the 37th minute. Goal-carbon with 1-0 with scorer this time on Bernard. A few seconds later Panathinaikos “touched” the 3-0 but the diagonal shot of Palasios went wide with 2-0 being the score for the first half of the friendly.

Ivan Jovanovic changed the entire lineup in the second half, coming into the match and Filip Mladenovic who made his first appearance in the green jersey. The pace was similar to the corresponding period of the first part, with the “greens” maintaining possession with the main exponent Magnuson who was taking measures on the field helping in the creative part. The Icelander was about to be anointed the scorer in the 63rd minute, when he improbably executed the free-kick that Sporar won by making 3-0.

The pace dropped even more afterwards with Ivan Jovanovic passing Kaloskamis and Truige, who returned from his injury, in the match. The game ended with his amazing goal Znunic in the 83′ while just before the end Cerin missed a great opportunity from Mancini’s turn to make it 4-1 but the score remained as it was.
