Two kids from Germany at Sfairopoulos Basketball Camp Skiathos

Two children from Germany combined their vacation in Skiathos with their participation in the 1st Sfairopoulos Basketball Camp Skiathos.

Through the 1st Sfairopoulos Basketball Camp Skiathos, some interesting and very beautiful stories emerged. Like that of 13-year-old Philip and his 11-year-old brother Aristotle. Two brothers who live permanently in Germany and saw their vacation in Skiathos, completely suddenly and without having planned it, combine with a lot of basketball, beautiful acquaintances and unique experiences, which they obtained from their completely accidental participation in the camp.

What exactly happened was explained to us by the father of the two children, Athanasios Roumeliotis. A permanent resident of Germany, in the city of Aachen, this year he chose Skiathos for his family vacation, which they even visited for the first time.

During the walk they took on their first day in Skiathos, they saw the posters on the island for the camp, but also two people doing various preparations in the open field in the port.

“I asked the kids if they would like to play basketball and I went to learn some things, not knowing who I was talking to. We introduced ourselves to Yannis (Sfairopoulos) and Vassilis (Geragotelli), I made the decision for the children to go to the camp, but on the other hand, as a parent, I was thinking about what I was doing, sending the children to something I didn’t know. That same night, I looked up some things online and was amused. Such an important person and coach would be involved with my children. Where can I imagine it?“, Athanasios Roumeliotis told us and added:

“My children were born in Germany and do not speak Greek well. But they paid a lot of attention and I thank them. Mr. Sfeiropoulos is an amazing person. He didn’t care if I knew him or not. But now I’m a big fan of his. My kids felt love, respect, found an edge with basketball language and I think they gained a lot in mentality, in basketball and all this was a great gift for me too».
