Extremely difficult times for him Edwin van der Sar!
According to the Dutch press, the veteran goalkeeper suffered a cerebral hemorrhageduring his vacation in Split, Croatia.
The 53-year-old was airlifted to the hospital and is now recovering in an intensive care unitwhere, as happens in similar cases, the first 24 hours are the most critical, while for now his condition is characterized as stable.
In fact, it is a tragic irony that the Van der Sar family is affected for the second time by such a serious health problem. And that’s because, 14 years ago to be exact in December 2009 his wife, Annmarie, had suffered a cerebral hemorrhage!
Until recently, the veteran goalkeeper worked as a general manager at Ajaxsubmitting his resignation last May.
On Friday, Edwin van der Sar had a bleed around his brain. He is currently in hospital in the intensive care unit and is in a stable condition.
