Great move for Panathinaikos women’s football: Announce the “bang” with Kakaboukis!

Panathinaikos made a great transfer for women’s football, as it announced its acquisition Eleni Kakakoumpi.

She is the captain of the National team, while last season she competed in Italy with her jersey Lazio. She competes in the midfield, she started her career from Agrinio, while she has also passed through PAOK, but also Swiss Lugano.

Panathinaikos’ announcement in detail:

“The Association made a very important transfer move with the addition of the captain of the National team, Eleni Kakaboukis who undoubtedly adds even more quality to the roster with her many years of experience in Greek and European stadiums.

Kakabouki (born 1987) competes as a midfielder and started her first steps in Agrinio in the local team of Achelou Neochorio, then in Aegina and from there in Athens for Odysseus Glyfadas. Then, he went to Thessaloniki on behalf of PAOK with whom he won 7 championships and 3 Cups.

The last two years he has been playing abroad, the 2021-22 season in Lugano and the 2022-23 season in Lazio.

Alongside her career abroad, Kakabouki has been a key member of the Women’s National Football Team since 2005, while she has been wearing the captain’s armband for several years.

In a statement on www.pao1908.com she said: “I am happy to play in a Big Club like Panathinaikos in the new season. I would like to thank the management of the Association, the President Mr. Malakate and Sotiris Pantaleon. I wish we have a successful year with health and achieve the goals we will set as a team.”
