One of the protagonists of the National Youth Team in Eurobasket U20 is undoubtedly Lefteris Mantzoukas, who has helped Greece a lot on its way to the semifinals of the competition!
The 20-year-old forward of Panathinaikos was hosted in his air News Bulletin 247 by Christos Robolis and spoke so much of her excellent course of the “blue and white”, as well as for the impressive ones transfers of the “greens”stressing, among other things, that he is looking forward to the new season so that together with his teammates they can reach the “clover” where it belongs.
In detail what Lefteris Mantzoukas said:
For the National Team: “In recent years we have not had many successes in the small National teams. We had set a goal before and we are slowly seeing it materialize. We thought we would. We haven’t reached where we want to get to.”
For yesterday’s match: “I had a virus before the Europeans, it kept me out for 5 days. But I got through it, I came through it all fine. We keep going strong, game by game.
Underdogs and favorites I never look at these. Children and players are changing at these ages every day. We imposed our tempo in the 2nd half, we played the way we wanted to. We played as a team, scored the free kicks and that’s how the result came.”
On the difficult transition to being a star player in the National Team in relation to his role in Panathinaikos: “I look at every team I play in to find what will be asked of me and give 100% in that role. That’s the way I think, to give my team what they want.”
For the semi-final with France: “Of course. We are 1000% prepared. We will come out with a “knife in our teeth” as in the other matches and we will go for the victory. God first, I hope we do well.”
On the difficult summer he has in Panathinaikos and National: “All good! Let there be basketball and all the best! We do our job. If we don’t do what we love, when will we do it?”
For Panathinaikos transfers: “Panathinaikos has made moves that have nothing to do with previous years. They will bring him back to the highest level again. I am happy and looking forward to the new season. Let’s get Panathinaikos to where it was and where it belongs.”
