The new Toyota Aygo X is a crossover unique in category A, designed and manufactured in Europe to meet the requirements of European drivers, residents of urban centers or suburbs.
The two-tone Aygo X, combined with a new color philosophy compose a special profile. The new wedge-shaped roof enhances the sense of dynamism, achieving a more sporty image. At the front, high-tech lights, while just below the large grille, fog lights and apron are based on the ‘double trapezoid’ theme that is part of the Aygo identity.
At 3,700mm long, the new Aygo X is 235mm longer than its predecessor, although the wheelbase has been increased by 90mm. The front cantilever is 72mm smaller than the Yaris, while the maximum dimension of the wheels has been increased to 18 ”.
Designed for the narrow streets of the city, the Aygo X has a small turning circle with a radius of just 4.7 m, which is one of the smallest in the category.
The overall width of the body has been increased by 125mm, now reaching 1,740mm compared to the Aygo. As a result, the front seats are + 20mm apart, increasing the shoulder space by 45mm. The luggage compartment is also top of the class with 125mm longer length and clever design behind the rear seats, resulting in an increase in capacity of over 60 liters to 231 liters, compared to the previous generation.
The height of the vehicle has been increased by 50mm to 1,510mm.
The steering is tuned for driving in European urban centers and suburbs, while the new S-CVT transmission offers good gear changes and linearity while maintaining a balance between efficiency and fuel consumption.
Aygo X uses the award-winning 1KR-FE 1-liter multi-cylinder engine that has been upgraded to comply with European regulations, while offering high levels of reliability and performance, with a fuel consumption target of just 4.7 l / 100km and CO2 emissions 107 g / km.
The new Aygo X designed and built in Europe for European customers will set new stylistic standards for European cities in 2022.
