Rooney: We work with Football Manager to find players – Mourinho did too

by

THE Wayne Rooney earns his living by working as a coach in USA and DC United and, as he revealed in an interview with the Times, he also uses the… Football Manager to spot talent!

The Manchester United legend said: “a lot of the market is South America and we have an agreement with Football Manager. We advertise to them and they give us access to eleven, twelve scouts who work in different parts of the world to help them in the game.”

In fact, the 38-year-old Brit claimed that “José Mourinho had done something similar in the past”!

Rooney then referred to the existence of the so-called “Discovery List”which allows MLS teams to… poach players.

In his own words, “let’s take Erling Haaland. We could put him on that list. This means that if he ever comes to MLS but decides to play for an LA team, the team he will have to pay Manchester City… and us! Because we “discovered” him. It ‘s crazy”.
