It seems that Liverpool are preparing a “strong push” for Calvin Phillips, with the 27-year-old Manchester City midfielder seen as the ideal case to replace Fabinho, who is getting closer and closer to Saudi Arabia.
Despite the fact that the footballer wants to stay at the “Etihad“, the possibility of its sale is not excluded, with West Ham and Newcastle to be, already, among the prospective suitors. Liverpool have a second chance this summer to bring him to Anfield, after last summer, when Phillips was acquired by City.
The rest of the names on the list of “Reds”, to strengthen the midfield are those of Ryan Gravenberg and Sofian Amrabat. All this, while developments are expected in the matter of Fabinho, who has accepted an offer of 40 million euros from Al-Ittihad, to move to Arabia. The Brazilian is ready to accept this huge offer and Liverpool are already in the process of finding his replacement.
Manchester City acquired Calvin Phillips from Leeds last summer and after the English midfielder had an excellent career there (234 appearances, 14 goals and 13 assists). With the “citizens”, he made 21 appearances in all competitions last season.
