Kalamata’s proposal to upgrade Super League 2

by

After Chania and Kallithea, Kalamata presented its own proposal for the reorganization of Super League 2 and the way it will be held for the 2024-25 season.

The announcement – proposal of PAE Kalamata:

Proposals and observations of the PAE “PS I KALAMATA 2019” for the reorganization-renewal of Super League 2 in view of this year’s competition season.

1. In case of selection of play offs (promotion) the second teams of OSFP-PAO-AEK-PAOK participating in the two groups should not compete if they have been ranked in the top five. This, because no promotion is foreseen for them and consequently it is possible, if they finish in the top five, on the one hand to deprive the 6th and 7th of the opportunity, on the other hand there will not be in these play offs two by definition indifferent teams that will reduce the competition and will largely determine the fortunes of the remaining participants. Of course, they will participate in the event of play outs as competitive relegation is foreseen.

2. Increase from 14 to 16 teams of the STOIXIMAN Super League and relegation of three (3) teams (directly and with play out) and correspondingly promotion of three (3) teams from Super League 2 directly or through play offs from the period 2024- 2025.

3. Single category as Super League 2, i.e. abolition of groups, with a total of eighteen (18) teams from the period 2024-2025.

4. Alternative way of scoring in the play offs, the first with five (5) points, the second with four (4) points, the third three (3) points, the fourth two (2) points and the fifth one (1) point so that there is a reward for the first during the regular season.
