Dele Alli’s interview with Gary Neville featured in recent sporting news. The Everton midfielder spoke directly about his tough childhood experiences as well as his more recent ones and the sporting community was quick to show his support.
One of the people who supported the Englishman was his former manager at Tottenham, Maurizio Pochettino. The current Chelsea boss spoke of his sadness at what he heard Dele, with whom he had a great relationship during their time at Spurs, say.
“It was very difficult for me to watch this interview“, initially states the Argentine, in an interview he gave to ESPN.
“I didn’t manage to see her until the end, because I was in so much pain. He knows how much we love him, how important he is to us as a person».
He then briefly referred to the Dele man: “As a player he was amazing, but as a person he has a big heart. Of course we are in touch. After our US tour, I hope to see him in London, meet him and give him a big hug».
“It’s always hard to watch an interview like this with someone you love. It hurts a lot. But he’s a very strong kid, and he’s sure to come back stronger».
