This is the institution created this year by the European Football Federation in collaboration with that of South America, in which the holder of the Europa League and the Copa Sudamericana participated.

The final was held at “Sáncheth Pithuan” and was dedicated to the late Antonio Puertawho passed away in 2007.

In the competition, the team from Ecuador took the lead through Diaz in the 10th minute, but Ortiz redeemed the hosts in stoppage time, with the match going to penalties – as no extra time was foreseen.

There, Sevilla went 4/4, with the South Americans losing two runs and the trophy along with it.

It is recalled that the Andalusians this year they won another Europa League by beating Roma in the same way (1-1, 4-1 penalty shootout), while on August 16 they will face Manchester City in the final of the UEFA Super Cup at “C. Karaiskakis”.
