Oumundur Kristinsson was born on June 19, 1989 in Reykjavik, Iceland and started his career at Fram, with whom he won the league title in 2013. He played for the Icelandic club for eight years before transferring to Randers in Denmark. He then wore the shirt of Hammarby (Sweden) and Excelsior (Netherlands), to be followed by the move to Greece on behalf of AEL.
He stayed at AEL for two years (from 2018 to 2020), recording 67 appearances in the Championship and Cup. In the summer of 2020, he transferred to Olympiakos, with whose colors he won the title of champion twice (2021, 2022) and once that of cup winner (2020).
Ömundur KristÃnsson has played for Iceland U19 and U21, and has also made 19 appearances for his country’s Men’s National Team, being part of Iceland’s Euro 2016 squad that reached the quarter-finals of the tournament.
