A big issue had arisen last April, when after a match between Real Madrid and Villarreal at the “Bernabeu”, the Federico Valverde had been accused of punching the visiting football player, Alex Baenashortly after the end of the match.
As reported by the Spanish Media at the time, the “queen” midfielder had… gone crazy over something his opponent had said about his son during the match, waiting for him in the stadium’s garage and punching him in the face while he was talking on his phone.
However, despite the initial decision of the disciplinary body of the Spanish Football Federation, which referred to a five-game suspension for Valverde, finally and as it became known on Tuesday morning (25/7), the Uruguayan will not be punished.
This decision was made due to a lack of evidence that Valverde actually physically assaulted Baena, so Carlo Ancelotti will have him at his disposal at the start of the new season.
Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde has been cleared to start the new La Liga season after a potential sanction following an altercation with Villarreal’s Alex Baena was withdrawn.
