The tragic events that happened on Monday night in New Philadelphia were condemned by the Kostas Bakoyannis and Tomislav Tomasevich with their joint statement. The two mayors, he of Athens Ms Zagreb they state that violence has no role in our society in both cities and emphasize that the “her only homeland is hatred”.
They ask for the exemplary punishment of those responsible so that something similar never happens again.

“Violence and blood have no place in our stadiums, in our cities, in our society. We absolutely condemn this terrible crime which led to the loss of a young life and a sad episode of hooliganism which endangered the lives of innocent citizens and children. Violence has no nationality. Her only homeland is hate.
We hope that the perpetrators will be found as soon as possible and punished in an exemplary manner so that we do not witness such tragic events again.
In these moments there are no words. Our sincere condolences to the victim’s family. Athens and Zagreb have friendly relations which we, as mayors, are committed to further strengthen ties and our cooperation will not be damaged by incidents of violence.”
