Aris with soul and… Palm “stepped” on Dynamo Kyiv and dreams of qualification!

by

Mars to… like against Dynamo Kyiv!

With one full and spirited appearance throughout the match, the Thessalonians prevailed fairly – perhaps the score is unfair to them based on the overall picture – of the Ukrainians with score 1-0, thanks to his well-timed penalty Luis Palma in the 69th minutewhich the “golden scorer” won with Ararat, Fabiano!

Apostolos Terzis masterfully set up his team, which combined with the passion of the football players and the push of the people in “Kl. Vikelidis”, left no room for doubt from the experienced and quality Dynamo, “locking” all the trump cards of the opponents.

Thus, Aris took a small, but very important step for qualifying for the playoffs Conference League, going into next week’s rematch in… neutral Bucharest (17/08) with the advantage of one goal.

Hearts were “broken”. during the celebrations of the Aris players in the Palma goal, with the Aris midfielder holding up a shirt with his name of a deceased friend of AEK, Michalis Katsouri, and the number “29”.

In the coach’s mind:

THE Apostolos Terzis lined up Aris with the classic 4-3-3 system having two surprises in the starting line-up, as he gave Montoya and Karlsson a starting jersey. Cuesta was found under the goal, with Montoya, Fabiano, Odubazzo and Ferrari making up the foursome of the defense. Djurasek, Darinda and Jules started in midfield, with Karlsson and Luis Palma playing on the wings, next to Moron.

On the other hand, Mr Mircea Lucescu chose 4-4-1-1 for the Ukrainians. Buschan in goal, with Timciuk, Popov, Sirota, Dubinczak in the defensive four. Sidtorchuk, Saparenko, with Yarmolenko and Kabayev on the two wings were in the forward positions. The only forward was Benito, with Bujalski moving behind him in a free role.

The match

Despite the fact that he had an experienced and quality team against him, Mr Marsnot only did he not “chew”, on the contrary, he entered from the very first minutes with awesome energy and mood on the pitch! With Apostolos Terzis players pressing high and stealing balls, the first good moment came just in the 4th minutewith his long shot Montoya to pass by the opponent’s goal.

Eight minutes later, the Thessalonians had double great opportunity. Specifically, Mr Ferrari tried his foot from the left with Buschan punching away, and Jules then getting the rebound by missing the long shot he attempted. The first threat of the Ukrainians came at 19′, with Benito’s weak shot not worrying Cuesta. Aris, who was the absolute ruler in the first half of the half, wasted another big one moment at 24′, when after a “chaf” by Sirota the ball was laid to Carlsonwho made the strong shot from a good position with the ball going against the opponent’s body and ending up in a corner.

From that point until the break, the guests they tied the match, naturally taking advantage of the fact that the Thessalonians threw “turns” in their admittedly excellent pressure in 2/3 of the pitch. Nevertheless, Ares were not threatened at any point in the final 20 minutes, with both teams they go to the locker room scoreless.

The second half started just like the first part about Mars. With pressure high, the home team stole the ball in a crucial area, with Moron to try his foot from long and outside left, taking a very good shot in the first 21 seconds of the replay! The continuation, however, was not similar, with the pace dropping considerably and the hard markings dominating the game that “froze” the game and did not allow the two teams to raise the stakes.

It is indicative that after Moron’s phase, the next good moment in front of the frames came at 65′. Like the previous one, this one was for Aris and indeed it was the greatest moment of the hosts up to that point. In particular, the hosts came out quickly on the counterattack, with Moron crossing from the right in the “heart” of the area, where Darida with a close header was impressively beaten by Buschan.

What the Czech could not do, he succeeded Luis Palma four minutes later, opening the scoring for Aris from the penalty spota violation won by Fabiano, the hero of Mars in the match against Ararat!

Aris-Dynamo Kyiv 1-0

The visitors’ reaction came in the 75th minute, in the first substantial and serious threat to Questa’s goal. After a nice movement, Benito “stepped” on Shabarenko, whose shot went just wide of the posts. A minute before the completion of the 90′, Dynamo had another good moment with the strong volley by Yarmolenko from the right, but the home team’s Spanish keeper was there to fend off the danger and keep a clean sheet.

In fact, at the end of the match, specifically at fifth and final minute of stoppage timeThe Aris… touched the 2-0with Moron’s shot being instinctively parried by the opposing keeper, and while Menendez was there to get into the path of the ball!
