Maro Papadopoulou became AEK’s winger on Friday. Erasitechniki announced the acquisition of the 17-year-old international with the National Junior Team for next year.
Papadopoulou won the bronze medal at the European Championships a few days ago with the representative group.

“AEK is pleased to announce the start of its collaboration with Maro Papadopoulou. The 17-year-old (03/08/2006) international athlete signed her contract and joins the club’s women’s polo team.
Maro Papadopoulou started playing polo at the Panionion Academy, while for the last two years she belonged to Olympiakos, where she competed in the youth team. At the same time, she is an international player with the Junior National Team, winning with her the bronze medal at the European Championship a few days ago.
After the formalization of the agreement, Maro Papadopoulou said to aek.gr: “I am very happy to wear the AEK cap! I will try to give 100% and live up to expectations. I can’t wait for the season to begin and, together with our coaches, to achieve the team’s goals and more.
Our success at the European Championship was obviously a team achievement, but also the product of hard training. I am very proud that we won third place and it is an honor to be a member of our representative group again this year.”
