by

Jamal Jones became a Prometheus player on Thursday. The Patrinos announced the acquisition of the 30-year-old American forward, formerly of PAOK and Ionian Nice, for the next year, so that he can be strengthened in the “3” and “4”, with the two sides having agreed two days ago.

In detail, the announcement:

“KAE Prometheus Patras is pleased to announce the acquisition of American Jamal Jones, who will strengthen our team’s forward line for the 2023-24 season.

Jamal Jones was born on February 17, 1993. He is 2.03 tall and plays mainly in the “3” position. He started his career in the 2011-12 season with the NCAA and the Ole Miss Rebels, while in 2013-14 he played for the Texas Aggies.

In the 2014-15 season, he played in the G League and the Delaware Blue Cats. In the 2015-16 season, he began his wanderings in the European arenas from the second division of France with Lille. The following year he went to Finland on behalf of Lapuan Korikobrat, while he then played in Italy’s Verona.

In the 2018-19 season, he was introduced to the Greek public for the first time, playing for PAOK, under the instructions of Ilias Papatheodorou, leaving a very good impression with the ‘two-headed man of the North’, as he scored 7.7 points and 3.3 rebounds, with 48% shooting percentage from three-point range. The following year he remained in Greece and played for Ionikos, with whom he did even better, averaging 13.7 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.1 assists.

He left in the middle of the year to go to Turkish Bahcesehir, where he stayed for two and a half seasons (2020-2022) and left a very good impression there as well. Last year, Jamal Jones returned to the Italian League for Dinamo Sassari, with whom he averaged 11.5 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists.

We welcome Jamal Jones to the Prometheus Patras family and wish him health, strength and success with our team.”
