Vissel Kobe announced the acquisition of Juan Manta.
After Andres Iniesta, the Japanese team proceeded to acquire another Spanish footballer, who was also a member of the National Team that had managed to win the World Cup in South Africa in 2010.
Mata was a free agent after leaving Galatasaray, having previously played for Valencia, Chelsea and Manchester United.
Mata also had offers from Europe in his hands, but he obviously preferred one last very good contract.
Kobe, meanwhile, are currently second in the J.League standings, one point behind leaders Yokohama Marinos, and face Kyoto Sanga today.
