Doncic reached 82 shots in the World Cup – Only one had more in the last 30 years!

There has been a lot of discussion in recent days about him Luka Doncic.

The Slovenian guard went viral after the matchup against Canadadue to his constant “whining” at the referees, which resulted in him being ejected early in the fourth period with two technical penalties.

“Luka Magic” had the complaint throughout the competition that the referees did not whistle the contacts against him, which is partly true, since in many cases the officials of the match allowed the rough play against him. However, a statistic released by the well-known journalist Donatas Urbanas also provides some new data.

In particular, after the match against Lithuania for places 5-8, Doncic reached 82 shots in the tournament. These are the second most times a player has visited the line in the last 30 years. The record is held by Dirk Nowitzkiwho took 89 shots at the 2002 World Cup, but did so in 9 games, while Luca has played 7, and has one more to go against Italy to be first in the relevant list.
