However, with the return of Bogdanovic and Milutinov to the floor, Pesic’s team started the… party as they took full control and shot the difference to +15 (52-37), at 19′. The only thing that changed was a basket by Barrett, which made it 52-39 in the first half.
The Canadians started more pressing in the second half, reducing the difference to a single digit value (57-50), in the 24th minute. However, then Serbia followed the pace of the Canadians and in fact not only had the lead, but with Stefan Jovic and Milutinov again escaped to a double-digit distance (69-58). In the last minutes, Guduric took action and thus the Serbs finished the third period at +12 (75-63).
With repeated good defenses, Serbia entered the fourth quarter and went on a 5-0 run to +17 (80-63), in the first minute. The Canadians reacted with Gilgeous-Alexander and Barrett, reducing (86-76) in the 35th minute. The Serbian answer came from Bogdanovic for +15 (91-76), in the 37th minute. From that point until the end, Pesic’s team was in control, cruising to a 95-86 final victory.
