National team of Greece: The EPO list of items prohibited on the field

Ahead of the match Greece-Gibraltar at the OPAP Arena (10/09/2023), the list of items prohibited from entering the facility is announced. It is recalled that the ban applies to all football matches within Greek territory, based on the EPO Regulation. (Regulation of Stadiums and Safety & Protection of Games).

List of Prohibited Items


1. Weapons of all kinds.

2. Anything that could be used as a weapon, or to cut, strike, or pierce, or as a projectile, especially long umbrellas, helmets, and other unwieldy instruments.

3. Bottles, cups, mugs or boxes of any shape, as well as other objects made of glass or any other extremely hard material.

4. Fireworks, flares, smoke powder, smoke bombs or other pyrotechnics.

5. Alcoholic beverages of any kind, narcotics or stimulants.

6. Racist, xenophobic, sexist or political propaganda material.

7. Masts or banner poles of any shape. Only flexible plastic poles and folding poles not exceeding 1 meter in length and 1 centimeter in diameter are permitted.

8. Banners or flags larger than 2m x 1.50m, flags and banners of smaller size are permitted, provided they are made of material deemed to be “low flammability” and have been brought to the attention of the home team in advance.

9. Organized fan teams that have giant flags must notify the home team prior to the game in order to decide whether to allow the giant flags.

10. Animals, with the exception of guide dogs and police dogs.

11. Any commercial, political, religious or promotional item, including without limitation banners, signs, symbols and brochures or any form of commercial items and materials or promotional items and materials.

12. Gas spray cans, corrosive, flammable substances, paints or containers containing substances that are harmful to health or are highly flammable.

13. Unwieldy items such as ladders, stools, (folding) chairs, boxes, large bags, rucksacks, suitcases and duffel bags. The term “unwieldy” is understood to mean any object that is larger than 25cmX25cmX25cm and cannot be stored under the seat inside the Stadium.

14. Large quantities of paper and/or paper tapes.

15. Mechanically operated instruments that produce noise such as loudspeakers and horns.

16. Laser pointers.

17. Cameras (except for personal use, in which case they will have a set of spare or rechargeable batteries), professional video cameras or other professional audio or video recording equipment.

18. Any device that is used for the purposes of commercial rebroadcasting or distribution of sound, image, description or results of the events via the internet or other forms of media.

19. Other items that could endanger public safety.
