Basket League: How the format of the league is changing

by

In less than a month, the first jamball is planned in Basketball Leaguewith the draw taking place on Tuesday at his offices YOU WERE.

After Triton’s inability to capitalize on the promotion ticket earned on the pitch, the league will be out of serious disarray with twelve teams, last year’s eleven with addition of Amarusius instead of Ionian.

But because one 22-game championship considered too small and not commercial enough, ESAKE has tabled some modifications to the format, in order to add a few more important matches to the calendar, before the playoffs.

Thus, a plan is being put forward that after the 22 games are over, the teams will be divided into two groups of six, from 1 to 6 and from 7 to 12. The teams will then play five additional games, with the three first of each group (1, 2, 3 and 7, 8, 9 that is) to play three games at home and the last three of each group (4, 5, 6 and 10, 11, 12) two matches at home and three away. So the number of games in the regular season practically rises to 27.

From these results the final standings of the regular season will also be determinedwith the twelfth being relegated (the plan foresees the promotion of two teams from the Elite League, of course) and the seventh and eighth gaining a place in the playoffs.

With the specific format in ESAKE, they estimate that the interest will be maintained in all positions for a few more weeks and we will watch some extra big games (among them an extra “eternal” derby).
