The “Andreas Varikas” tournament is back. Panionios announced on Tuesday the revival of the legendary event for the first time since 2009, with its holding scheduled for the 16th-17th of the month at the indoor stadium of Nea Smyrni with the participation of the “blue and red”, Papagos, Psychikos and of Amarousi.
In detail, the announcement:
“The revival of the Andreas Varikas tournament, in memory of the invisible, but highly productive worker and visionary of the Panionian GSS, was a key priority of the management of the men’s basketball team.
This year, for the first time since 2009, EVERYONE’S wish will come true with the tournament taking place on the weekend of 16 and 17/9. Three strong teams did the honor to accept the invitation and the world will have the opportunity to watch a nice basketball spectacle, as an ‘appetizer’ before the start of the official competitive duties.
The matches will be held at the “Andreas Varikas” Stadium.
Beyond the competitive part, a series of events have been planned in order to honor the memory of the great visionary and to teach the new generations of PANIONIO, as well as the entire basketball world, that what we love should be served selflessly , with a vision and a plan.

16:30 Match for 3rd place
19:00 Race for 1st place
