Michael Owen: “Sidibe’s incredible goal, the other two were a bit of luck”

Michael Owen commented for TNT Sports on her big win AEK at Brighton stating he was impressed by Djibril Sidibe’s goal.

“Incredible finish! They had planned it. I haven’t scored that many goals with my head, I couldn’t score with a header from that far away (laughs). It was a very quality goal, but AEK’s other two had a fair amount of luck“, said the English great forward of the past.

“I don’t think I could head it that far! It was unbelievable!” @themichaelowen isn’t convinced that Djibril Sidibe’s header was part of the original plan. ??

“Brighton learned valuable lessons. The problem was that everyone was too excited for the first European game. Often such circumstances can become more important than the game itself and you lose concentration. It’s the first step in a long journey in Europe for Brighton, and with the way they are playing they will be a regular presence for years to come.“, he added.

“If you’re going to lose a game, it better be early, because you have plenty of time to make up lost ground. But you should go and win at a difficult venue, like Ajax or Marseille. If they get three wins, I think they will have a good chance of going through. They can make it“, concluded.
