Dzukic is the new coach of AEK

THE Dragan Dzukic will be the new coach of her handball team AEK.

After the “divorce” with Alexis Albanosthe “yellow and black” announced the agreement with Experienced Serbian technician.

The relative announcement states:

“AEK is pleased to announce the start of its partnership with Dragan Dzukic. The 61-year-old (09/08/1962) experienced Serbian coach takes over the technical leadership of the Club’s men’s handball team.

Dragan Džukić is one of the leading coaches in Europe, having sat on the bench of leading clubs such as Red Star, Pik Zeget (Hungary), Vardar (Skopje), CSM Bucharest (Women’s Team-Romania), Maccabi Tel Aviv (Israel ), Tatabania (Hungary), but also national teams, such as Switzerland, Skopje, Israel, Montenegro.

He has led Vardar to the double and to the 4th place of the EHF CWC, Pik Zeget to the “8” of the EHF Cup and to the Championship, while he was named Cup Winner with Maccabi and CSM Bucharest. With the women’s team of Bucharest she reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League. He led the Montenegrin national team to the 2018 European Championship.

He has been awarded as the best young coach of Yugoslavia, coach of the year in Hungary and Serbia, as well as coach of the century in Aleksandrovac, Serbia.

Since 2014 he holds the Pro License in coaching from the European Handball Federation, which is the highest license for a coach, while he is a lecturer for the EHF. He has a degree in physical education with a master’s in coaching.

Dragan Dzukic told aek.gr:

“First of all, I have only good words to say and to express my respect for everything that Alexis Albanos has achieved in recent years, both as head coach and as a member of the technical team. I take my hat off to him and wish him the best of luck in the rest of his career.

He has given so much to Greek handball and I really believe that he will continue to contribute to it. This is no time for big words, the season has just started. The next goals are ahead of us and every game will be a test of who we are as a team and what we are made of.

What I can promise is that we will work hard to be better as a team and we can be stronger if we all move in the same direction:

Management, coaching staff, players, fans. I know where I’m coming from and what lies ahead, but I believe that together we can achieve a lot.”
