Milutinov on bwinSPORT FM: “I’m back to my family, it’s a pleasure to be coached by Bartzokas”

After three years of absence in Moscow on behalf of CSKA, o Nikola Milutinov he made his dream come true and put his shirt back on Olympiakou. Speaking to News Bulletin 247 on the sidelines of the Media Day of the Greek doubles, he mentioned the first days after his return, but also his collaboration with George Bartzokas.

After calling it a pleasure to play for him, he pointed them out problems that exist in the preparation of the team, but also the “obligation” that everyone in the “red and whites” has to work hard for the team to appear as ready as possible at the beginning of the season.

-How are the first days after your return to the team?

“I’m excited to be back and competing again for the Olympiakos family and their amazing fans. I can’t wait for the season to start.”

-You have played just two pre-season friendlies and again with deficiencies. What is your readiness rate?

“We’re still trying to learn each other. Many players were missing with their National teams and others with injury. We are all trying to make up for lost ground together because the road is long. We have to do whatever it takes to get ready as quickly as possible, because at the beginning of the season there are very difficult games.”

-How much has the organization changed three years later?

“The truth is that compared to 2020 when I left, there are only two players who are the same. Papanicolaou and Williams-Goss. Everyone else has changed. The team has also leveled up in terms of organization and made strides everywhere. He is very happy that I could see from afar how much Olympiacos has improved and progressed in recent years.”

-It will be easy to quickly get into the spirit of the team, once you know the philosophy of coach Barzokas;

“We’ve had three or four training sessions and I’ve played in two friendlies, and I’m really enjoying him coaching me. He is the best coach and it has been credited for the last two years with the awards he has won. I enjoy playing for him. It will be easy for me to do what he has planned and wants from me on the court.”

-How do you like the new looks?;

“I really like the red and white jersey. The rest we will… see when we will wear them.”
