Announced Isaiah Briscoe the Marousi

Giorgos Scarafigas’ team announced on Tuesday afternoon (26/09) the acquisition of Isaiah Jamal Briscoethus strengthening its district with a quality solution.

The 27-year-old American guard has also been through the NBAin the 2017-18 season, where he recorded 3.9 points and 2.2 assists in 39 games with the Orlando Magic.

“KAE GYMNASTICOS SYLOGOS AMAROUSIOU 1896 announces the acquisition of Isaiah Jamal Briscoe (27 years old, 1.91). The American guard sent his signed contract on Monday morning (9/25) and is expected in Athens on Friday to join the team’s training.

WHO IS

Isaiah Jamal Briscoe was born on April 13, 1996 in Newark, New Jersey and played two years (2015-17) for the Kentucky Wildcats. He had shown his talent since high school. He graduated from Roselle Catholic High School in 2015 and was ranked among the top guards in the country. He comes from a basketball family, as both his father, George Briscoe, was a standout from his time at Stockton State College, his sister, Iasia Hemingway, played at Syracuse University, and his cousin is NBA star Kyrie Irving. He participated in the US U18 National Team that won the Pan American Championship in 2014. In 2015 he was named All-American. In his second season as Calipari’s player with the Wildcats, he finished with 12.1 points, 5.4 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game.

His professional career started in Estonian Kalev with which he won the national championship in 2018. On February 16, 2018 in one game he scored 50 points. He participated in the Estonia/Latvia All Star Game in which he was named MVP. On June 9, 2018, he was named the VTB United League “Young Player of the Year” by averaging 18.5 points, 3.4 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.6 steals in 26.7 minutes per game.

On July 6, 2018, he signed with the Orlando Magic. He made his NBA debut on October 19, 2018, tallying 10 points and 3 assists coming off the bench in a 120–88 loss to the Charlotte Hornets. In October 2019, he signed with Germany’s Ulm where he averaged 7.6 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game.

On February 1, 2020, he signed with Poland’s PLK Szczecin, with whom he played three games (averaging 15.7 points, 3.0 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game) before the season was suspended due to the pandemic, COVID- 19. In the 2021-22 season he played in the D-League with the Iowa Wolves, an affiliate of the Minnesota Timberwolves and continued in Italy with Udine (Division B), averaging 19.3 points and 4.4 rebounds
