Even with absences, Aris defeated Karditsa 89-76 in Alexandrio in a friendly preparation match. Yannis Kastritis did not have Bohorides, Bloombergs and Fillios at his disposal.
Karditsa led 8-3, but Aris responded with a 9-0 run to make it 18-11. Thessalians were down 21-20, before 24-20 in the first quarter.
With a three-pointer by Persedis, the “yellows” reached +8. Thessalians fell to 30-27, but the home team regained a double-digit lead and with Carr’s three-pointer they closed the half 45-34.
In the third period, De Souza aggressively “pushed” the “yellows” and brought the score to 57-42 with a 7-0 run, and with Slaftsakis and Galinat helping offensively, we reached +13 at 30′.
With a 6-0 run, Karditsa cut to 70-62 and 77-69. Two three-pointers by Galinat and one by Katsivelis brought the score to 83-71 and with four consecutive points by Slaftsakis the match ended 89-76.
