Greek Boxing is the protagonist with 6 medals in the Balkan Championship

The “heart” of Greek Boxing “beat” in Albena, Bulgaria, from September 25 to October 4, where the Balkan Elite Men’s – Women’s Championship was held. The National Boxing Team won a total of 6 medals, 2 gold, 1 silver and 3 bronze, proving our high sporting heritage with this new achievement which is yet another top moment for Greek Boxing.

Our sportsmen and women performed impressively at the Balkan Games, highlighting their talent, excellent technical training, dedication and endurance in the ring, clearly showing their absolute dynamism in the “arena” of sports.

Specifically, Olga Paulina Papadatou and Vasiliki Stavridou gave Greece 2 gold medals and Evelina Mavrommati won a silver. To the successful Greek presence in the Balkan Championship are added the 3 bronze medals of our great boxers, Antonias Giannakopoulos, Yiannis Vafiadis and Dionysis Psychogiou.

The President of the Hellenic Boxing Federation, Mr. Haris Mariolis, full of pride for the new top performance of the National Team, stated the following:

“This new amazing achievement of winning 6 medals is another reason of pride for all of us. The athletes showed us the power of the Greek spirit and sports in all its glory. Their dedication, hard work and love for the sport was rewarded with these outstanding results. Each medal reflects their spirit, technical prowess and endurance. They are true champions and a source of inspiration for us all. I am sure that this success is only the beginning and that they will continue to impress us with their performances.”

Addressing our sportsmen and women, the EOP strongman said: “Keep fighting with passion and faith. We are by your side, we support you and we trust you. Your amazing presence at the Balkan Championship is yet another proof of the high level of Greek Boxing in the international arena.

United, we will continue to work for the promotion of the sport of boxing in Greece but also worldwide so that the “blue and white gloves” reach where we all want: At the highest level of the world.
