The closed OAKA turns into a construction site in the summer – These projects will be done

The changes that have been made to OAKA and those that will follow from the summer onwards.

A lot of work has been done on the interior and exterior of his stadium Panathinaikou by private initiative. Although the time, which the “clover” had at its disposal since the closed Olympic Facilities passed into the hands of the KAE (the friendly games of the national team also intervened) was short.

With the completion of his competitive obligations Panathinaikou for the 2023-24 season the OAKA will be turned into a construction site. It should be noted that based on the contract signed for the concession of the closed one must invest an amount of 3 million euro the coming years.

So far a new top specification parquet has been installed, 300 seats on the floor to NBA standards, as well as chairs, but also benches at the VIP doors. Also, the interior (toilets etc.) and exterior spaces were painted.

At the same time, the VIP Lounge and the press room were reconstructed, which is now considered one of the best in Europe. Even in the corridor leading from the dressing room to the pitch, pictures of the team’s glorious past were placed on the walls.

At the same time, the parking lots were demarcated, the turnstiles were reconstructed to avoid over-jumping, the reconstruction and cleaning of Parking 5, the door where the organizers will sit, the signage changed in all areas of the closed area (inside and outside), installation of a new floor around the perimeter of the arena and at the entrance to the training rooms. Also, studies of the static adequacy of the field have been carried out, while necessary works have been carried out and many more will follow in the summer.

As for the projects that will follow in the summer…

After the issue that arose with the Calatrava canopy in the Olympic Stadium (it does not concern the indoor one), the people of the KAE want an even greater basis to be given to the safety issues of the indoor one. It is classified as an imperative! At the same time, a basis will be given to the stability of the roof, as well as to hydraulic, electrical and mechanical issues, while they will be installed new floors.

Engineers and architects will undertake the complete renovation of the facilities, but NOT ONLY the central arena, but also the ancillary facilities. All of the above will be thoroughly checked. THE Panathinaikos will change all the seats of the indoor and there will be a complete change of lighting!
