Standard Liège continues its upward trend, winning 2-1 against Club Brugge in the tenth matchday of the Belgian championship.

In a match that turned into a rodeo in the finale, Karl Hofkens’ side celebrated their first home win of the season, while keeping the former Belgian manager’s team away from victory for a fourth straight match (three draws and one loss).

The match started with the best standards for Standard, after Bocadi opened the scoring in just the eleventh minute with a header from the height of the penalty area. The goal was examined for a long time by the VAR and counted as normal, despite the strong protests of the visitors for offside.

Brugge upped the ante in the second half and chased an equaliser, scored by Olsen in the 85th minute, but Standard immediately found the answer. In the 90′ with Price’s goal from a clever pass by Kanga, the home team regained the lead and all three points.
