They “knew” Liverpool-Newcastle and… Brighton-West Ham stung a point!

by

Great point for Brighton and West Ham! Her rival AEK and hers Olympiakou got big results at home, since their games against Liverpool and Newcastle they were tied at 2-2, respectively.

In the ‘Apex’, Brighton came in better and managed to take the lead after mistakes in Liverpool’s defense and Antigra’s finish in the 20th minute for 1-0. The answer from Jurgen Klopp’s team came and in fact… twice with Salah taking it upon himself. First, in the 40th minute, the Egyptian equalized with a nice spot, to come five minutes later to convert the won penalty into a goal for the reversal (1-2).

The “reds” pressed better in the second half and were more dangerous, but they lacked substance and time seemed to be ticking for the hosts after they struck with a dunk in the 78th minute from stoppage time to… dry up Klopp’s side for the final 2-2.

Same result in London in… carbon match, with the West Ham and Newcastle to stay at 2-2. With the home side taking the lead in the 8th minute through Suchek and managing to hold onto their lead until half-time, playing massive defence. However, the guests entered the second half with momentum and with Isak as the protagonist they brought it… somersault. First, the Swede equalized in the 57th minute, and five minutes later, the same player, after Trippier’s assist, signed the reversal. The Londoners, however, had not said their last word and Kundous in the 89th minute equalized and gave the point to West Ham.

A draw in the third match held at the same time, after Wolves and Aston Villa remained at 1-1. Hwang Hee-Chan in the 53rd minute and against the flow of the match gave the “wolves” the lead, with Torres equalizing two minutes later to bring the match where… it was. And Lemina’s red card in the 4th minute of stoppage time left the hosts with one player less, who needed Sa and … luck (Watkins hit the post in the last phase of the match) to keep the point against Villa until the final!
