Eleni Potari had a great career as a player, she was a member of the national team for several years and competed in the 2004 Athens Olympics.
“The Hellenic Handball Federation announces with deep sorrow the death of Eleni Potaris at the age of only 41.
Eleni Potari honored Greek handball and the National team, of which she was an active member for a number of years, even participating in the Athens Olympic Games in 2004.
He had a long career as a left winger, winning titles, while also having important individual awards.
He started at Aris Nikias, while he then competed at Ormi Patras, OFN Ionia, Anagennisi Byron and GAS Kamaterou.
She also participated with the Women’s National Team in the Mediterranean Games of Tunis (2001), Almeria (2005) and the Balkan Games in Turkey in 2004 where she won the bronze medal.
In recent years, Eleni suffered from health problems, which she always faced with courage and excessive dignity. She was a fighter for life and that is how she will be remembered.
