Despite the disappointment in the kingdom that the country failed to win the previous event, in 2030, the Saudis, through Mohammed Bin Salman, submitted a new proposal for the next event.
“Saudi Arabia’s intention to bid for the 2034 World Cup is a historic first and reflects the country’s goals to unlock new football opportunities at all levels, but also a commitment to support the growth of the game in all corners of the world“, said the crown prince and prime minister of the country.
It is worth noting that 70 FIFA member associations, from different continents, have publicly expressed their support for Saudi Arabia, which, if no other nominations emerge, will undertake to organize the World Cup, which will also be held in winter due to the same particularity with Qatar.
